State of Sustainable Fashion in Singapore
A 17-minute documentary series spotlighting 11 influential sustainable fashion leaders in Singapore.
Project Overview
I originally joined ZERRIN as an intern, genuinely hoping to learn a lot more about sustainability and conscious practices in marketing and fashion. But I was quickly gifted with the amazing opportunity to take on much more: producing, editing, and launching the brand's first documentary series, The State of Sustainable Fashion in Singapore.
From Strategy to Final Cut
Before we even started filming, I worked closely with my manager to map out the big picture. I helped define the core message and the narrative arc for every feature, making sure the final piece would be authoritative and genuinely engaging. Through this process, I quickly learnt to adapt my approach to best suit my manager's vision and the stakeholders' information needs.
When it came time to shoot, I was right there, involved in the cinematography and shooting of all 11 interviews alongside our three-woman team. I focused on being proactive during every shoot, spotting valuable angles and interview answers that could enhance the final documentary's messaging.
The 17-minute piece was entirely edited by me, and honestly, this part was a massive challenge. I had never attempted a production of this calibre at that point in my career. Distilling all those crucial, nuanced points about sustainable fashion into a video under 20 minutes took serious attention to detail and multiple rounds of editing. My focus was on making sure the editing style felt right for YouTube and that the social media teasers we produced were strong enough to drive maximum excitement and views for the release.
